I am a freelance graphic designer, currently working with companies and individuals who are focussed on making positive differences in the world.
With over 20 years of experience working in the creative industry, using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Acrobat, and Procreate daily. I thoroughly enjoy using these applications as there is always something new to learn. I have good working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Fresco, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Analytics and MailChimp too.
I enjoy working closely with clients to produce outstanding artwork, solve problems and advising on the best way to produce specific types of artwork. Clients and former colleagues have praised me for remaining calm, polite and approachable at all times, something which I am proud of.
Projects that I have worked on include (but not limited to): illustration, editorial design, annual reports, infographics, presentations, magazines, newsletters, brochures, books, leaflets, flyers, tickets, posters, greeting cards, invitations, exhibition stands, window displays, signage, websites, motion design, business stationery, logos, folders, direct mail campaigns, branding & corporate guidelines, retouching photographs, the list goes on!
I enjoy creating engaging artwork, either on brief and to specific design brand guidelines or creating something new from scratch. I thrive on working with marketing teams, bringing their ideas to life. I can help new companies create individual identities and brands that stand out from the crowd. Working with customers who do not know what they want or where to start and is always fun and I can guide them all the way through to the end of a project which they will be delighted with.
After leaving school I completed a BTEC in 3D Design at South Cheshire College followed by a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design Studies at Wolverhampton University. I attended evening classes to complete the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Web Site Design and Level 3 Advanced Diploma for Software Developers, passing both modules with Distinction. Other evening classes I have completed are: Spanish GCSE and A-Level, Psychology A-Level, Photography and numerous Art and Drawing courses, all of which have been very inspirational.
I have a passion for drawing, I am a member of a local art group and take part in regular exhibitions. I challenge myself to draw daily and have fun experimenting with photography, animation techniques and graphic styles. Recently I have joined the Visual Art Association to further develop my career as an artist.
Whilst working I enjoy listening to 90s indie music, obscure punk bands and old school hip hop. When I'm not working (or in lockdown), I enjoy walking in the forest or along the coast, usually in the rain! and days out in the countryside with my family.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss working together!
